Experience a unique musical event showcasing the talents of Ukrainian artists. Enjoy captivating classical compositions performed on saxophone and piano. The program includes the worlds' classics and famous Ukrainian compositions.
Vladyslav Dovhan, a renowned Ukrainian saxophonist and conductor, has performed with prestigious orchestras such as the Lviv Philharmonic and Lviv Jazz Orchestra. A winner of several international competitions, he currently performs with ensembles at the New England Conservatory.
Olena Morozova, a talented Ukrainian pianist and chamber musician. She holds a Master’s degree in piano teaching, accompaniment, and soloist of chamber ensemble, as well as a post-graduate degree in assistantship-internship as a composer.
Donations towards ongoing fundraiser for humanitarian aid for Ukraine are highly appreciated.
The artists will also give a concert the day before, on February 28, at 7 pm, at The Governor's School for the Arts, 254 Granby St Norfolk, VA, United States, Virginia 23510.

In Ukraine, Taras Shevchenko is revered as the "Prophet," "Kobzar," and the "symbol of the nation." He played a pivotal role in the 19th-century cultural and political renaissance of Ukraine and continues to inspire millions worldwide today.
Shevchenko's life was marked by immense hardship, which deeply influenced his powerful works. His poetry, imbued with a profound love for his homeland, a fervent desire for social justice, and an unwavering yearning for freedom, has become a powerful voice for the Ukrainian people, earning him widespread admiration and respect.
Shevchenko's life and work have indelibly shaped the Ukrainian national identity. His birthday, March 9th, is widely celebrated as a day of national pride and a testament to Ukraine's rich cultural heritage.
