Join us for our traditional Ukrainian Easter Egg Pysanka Workshop.
*Pysanka is a Ukrainian Easter egg, decorated with traditional Ukrainian folk designs using a wax-resist method. The word pysanka comes from the verb pysaty, "to write" or "to inscribe," as the designs are not painted on, but written with beeswax.*
All supplies are provided.
Children 10 years old and older are welcome. Because we will be working with an open flame - and real raw eggs! - children should be supervised by an adult.
Fee:
- $15 supply fee for TUCA members
- $45 for guests and non-members.
(TUCA Annual Family membership is $45 for two adults plus children; TUCA Annual Individual Membership is $25).
All proceeds go to support Ukraine in this time of war.

On February 26, the Ukrainian community will meet at 1 p.m. in Town Point Park (near Nautucus Museum) in Norfolk, VA to hold a mass rally to mark the 1-year anniversary of russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

On January 15th TUCA is inviting you to come together for a Ukrainian Christmas and New Year's Social!
We will be happy to see old friends and meet new ones, share delicious Ukrainian holiday food, sing kolyadky, and pray for Ukraine's victory.
All members, friends and family are welcome!
You do have to reserve your spot in advance, though as space is limited, and therefore pre-registration is required, and is on the first-come-first-served basis. When signing-up for "spots" please make sure that you indicate everyone in your party who will be attending, including children.

Event is also complimentary for Ukrainian students studying in the US, and Ukrainian servicemen.

“Peace is a tune the world should play” is a Ukrainian art fundraiser event. This will be a presentation of our youth culture movement. We happy to have Sasha Arkhangelska and Helen Hev as our live painters from Ukraine. They will make paintings during music show. At the end of the night arts will be available for sale at the auction. Everyone can participate.

Dj Natalie from Ukraine will have a set of Ukrainian house and pop music. Gustavo will be coming from OBX with his beautiful set of house gems. And Lady Raine will do her thing curating the best vibes for us.

My beautiful friend Maryna Chobotar will sing for us in Ukrainian.

Our vendors will sell goods as handmade desserts, handmade knit socks and hats, Ukrainian print T-shirts and hats, as well as others nice things.

During this hard times in the world my goal is to get people together in something uplifting and yet with a cause.
Art and music has always been a remedy and weapon.
During many years in history Ukrainians have been fighting for a chance to write songs and literature in Ukrainian language. Many artists were executed and sent to prison just for us to have our culture saved.

And now here I am all the way across the ocean able to show the world our beautiful language, music, art I appreciate everyone who is showing interest and conditional support.
As our families in Ukraine struggle with basic things like safety, food, electricity and roof, I ask you to join us for a cause to raise money for those in need. And to become a part of the most dearest part of my soul. Because no matter where in the world I am, a part of my soul is always in Ukraine, country that raised me and gave me purpose, country where my family and friends are. Country that have been staying so strong and brave throughout darkest times.

Ukrainian Velykden Picnic

Tidewater Ukrainian Cultural Association and Tidewater Ukrainian School are inviting everyone to come together on April 24th for Ukrainian Velykden' - Easter, to pray for Ukraine, and to support each other and all Ukrainian people.
This is a potluck, so please bring your favorite dishes and drinks to share with the community.
We moved this event to the picnic shelter at the Tidewater Ukrainian School. However, as the shelter is mid-sized, feel free to still bring your folding chairs and picnic blankets!
